16th Century Elizabethan Embroidery Pattern

This Elizabethan pattern is from an English embroidery sampler by Jane Bostocke (at the V&A Museum) from 1598. This particular embroidered pattern will become part of a pin pillow.

A Blackwork Embroidered Pattern from a 16th Century Italian Sampler

This embroidery pattern below is my interpretation of a pattern found on a 16th Century Italian embroidery sampler located at the V&A Museum (Victoria & Albert Museum) in London.

 

 

 

 

 

As I am using up scraps of linen fabric to make little pin pillows to give out as trinkets, I only embroidered one diamond for today's project. 

 

I used untwisted silk thread on linen fabric.
