Tokens for A&S Display at Christmas Tourney

I put blackwork embroidery on handkerchiefs to be passed out as tokens for some of the A&S displays at Christmas Tourney.

My Arts and Sciences Display from Red Dragon

At Red Dragon this year, there was the North Oaken Craftspersons Faire. I displayed some of my blackwork embroidery at it.

These photos from Red Dragon 2016 are from Raven Haraldson.

I received wonderful compliments on my embroidery, as well as feedback on where to go from here.

Included with these compliments was a blog entry from Timi Townsend (link available below).

Video to show a step by step guide

I found this video to be quite informative with showing a visual step by step on how to do blackwork embroidery. Typically, I use one strand of silk thread, rather than having my thread doubled up like in the video. However, the basic concept of how to actually create the blackwork pattern on the fabric is still the same. Please click on the link below for this video.

In other news, I have ordered more linen and silk thread. I will soon be beginning a few different projects to work on simultaneously! Pictures to come shortly.
